Preserving what matters—on your terms

MyArc helps you preserve your life story and designate how it may be shared in the future. This Legacy Continuity Policy explains how Arclly handles legacy designations, verification, release, and sensitive content.

Read this together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Consent & Sensitive Data Policy.

1. Your legacy designations

You may designate:

  • Legacy Trustees
  • Legacy Recipients
  • Gift Recipients
  • legacy delivery instructions

These designations express your intent. They do not create immediate legal rights or transfer ownership of your content while you are alive.

2. Verification before release

Before releasing legacy materials, Arclly may require reasonable verification including:

  • identity verification
  • proof of authority
  • supporting documentation
  • additional fraud-prevention measures

Arclly may refuse or delay release where:

  • fraud is suspected
  • ownership cannot reasonably be verified
  • conflicting claims exist
  • local law prohibits release

3. Sensitive & protected content

You may flag individual chapters or entries as sensitive. Options may include:

  • include in full
  • include a summary only
  • ask me first before release
  • never include

Content classified as safety-critical or protected is handled with heightened care and is excluded from aggregated or de-identified use.

Beneficiaries may see a warning before opening flagged sensitive content rather than encountering it without notice.

4. Health & mental health information

Health and mental-health-related reflections may be treated as sensitive personal information under applicable privacy laws.

Explicit consent is required for processing this information where required by law. Arclly does not diagnose conditions or characterize causes of death.

Staff access to crisis- or health-related content is limited to what is necessary for support, security, or legal compliance and is logged where applicable.

5. Third parties in your story

Your memoir may reference other people. Where supported, you may anonymize a third party's name in sensitive entries.

Arclly cannot resolve every privacy tension between legacy preservation and third-party privacy; you remain responsible for what you choose to share.

6. Revocation & changes

You may update or revoke legacy instructions while your account is active, subject to technical and legal limits.

Material changes to legacy designations may require re-confirmation where appropriate.
